Microneedling

Microneedling Details

What It Is

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive treatment that can improve texture and firmness of the skin, and reduce pore size and the appearance of scars and stretch marks. The treatment uses an automated, fractional micro-needling device after applying topical anesthesia. Microneedling treatments can be combined with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), exosomes, growth factors and other regenerative procedures.

What It Does

The treatment involves fine needles creating tiny punctures in the top layer of the skin, triggering the body to create new collagen and elastin. The newly formed collagen increases the thickness and strength of the skin and the elastin increases skin tightness. Enhanced treatment that combines topical regenerative serums increases this effect.

What To Expect

Usually about 3-5 days after the procedure, the skin will begin to appear smoother and tighter and the skin tone will be more even. The skin continues to age as time passes, so this treatment is generally performed as part of regular skin rejuvenation and maintenance.

How Microneedling Works

Sun damage, acne scars, wrinkles and aging skin all contribute to an unfavorable skin tone and texture.

By creating a controlled Non-Thermal injury underneath the skin’s surface, Microneedling stimulates the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers.

The new collagen and elastin produced move towards the surface of the skin reducing the appearance of scars, fine lines, and other skin texture changes.

After regular microneedling treatments, you can experience what it’s like to wake up every day with radiant, beautiful skin.

FAQs

How many treatments will I need?

Microneedling is a slower, less invasive approach to skin rejuvenation. That said, it does require more treatments to achieve desired results. The treatment can be safely performed every 4-6 weeks as needed. If you’re looking to get firmer, more youthful skin, we typically find that collagen production is induced after at least 3 treatments. If you’d like to reduce the appearance of a scar, this typically requires 3-6 treatments.

Does the treatment hurt?

About an hour before the treatment, we will apply a topical anesthetic to reduce any discomfort the needles may cause. We use a handheld device to make pinpricks in your skin, with the entire treatment lasting about half an hour. After the needling, we apply specialized serums to calm skin, promote hydration, and address any other skin concerns you may have.

When will I see results?

After finishing a series of treatments with Fusion Medical Center over the course of several months, you will start to see your skin concerns fading. Texture is even and clear, pore size is reduced, scars and damage are faded, and more!
